Proposal Submission Instructions

For Paper, Panel, Roundtable, Software Demonstration or Workshop sessions:

  1. Please electronically submit the Proposal using the web form at http://sair.org/proposals/index.asp by May 12, 2006.
  2. Enter your session title
  3. Select one of the seven tracks from the dropdown menu that relates to your topic
  4. Identify the type of session you are proposing.
  5. If you have an equipment request, please click on the appropriate box. If you mark “other”, you must identify the equipment in the box provided and provide a written justification for the request. You should enter your justification in the box provided for you to “indicate your needs”. SAIR will make every effort to accommodate reasonable requests. For additional information, contact the Program Chair, Lorne Kuffel ( lorne@wm.edu ).
  6. Please indicate whether you are a primary presenter, co-presenter, facilitator or SIG Contact. Then, please complete the rest of your contact information
  7. Please paste an abstract of no more than 100 words. Although some editing may occur, most abstracts of accepted presentations will appear verbatim in the conference program.
  8. Paste a narrative representing the body of the proposal in the space provided. Limit your narrative to no more than three “pages” and it should cover the following: a) significance or timeliness of the topic; b) historical, theoretical, and/or conceptual framework; c) method of inquiry; d) analytical method; and e) intended audience.
  9. No reference to authors or their institutions should appear in the body of the proposal.
  10. When you've completed your proposal, click “press to submit your proposal” and you should then see a thank you message.
  11. SAIR will notify primary contacts in mid July about the status of their proposals.
